Fenice Sabre Glove: HEMA sword fighting review

For the past year of 2024 me and my clubmate tried out the Fenice sabre glove from Fenice From Athletes, for athletes Which is a Italian based company which have made a glove specialized for Sabre and Sidesword

Durability

For using them for almost a year, 1 or 2 times a month they are very good durability. I think they will held up for a longer time then their competitors: HF-Armory, Red dragon, Lacrosse.

The fabric of the glove is very sturdy which gives the glove more durability. Only the future can tell what will bring to this glove and its users.

Mobility

While their durability is very good, the mobility of the glove is not as good. It seems like the glove is fighting against your own hand. Most of the time you have your hand closed, but the glove want to fight you to keep it stay open. Your hand gets fatigued quickly because of this.

Protection

Around protection there is not much to say about it, the protection of the glove for sabre is just as good or maybe a little bit better than names as HF-Armory Firestone and the Red Dragon.

We are SO happy to finally reveal to everyone our first product, the Fenice Gloves!

Some of you already had the chance to try them and to see how they perform, and we are really happy for your comments and feedbacks.

So, first of all, thank you!

Soon we’ll officially open the shop, we are just making the final adjustments!

(We were waiting to have our first stock ready for shipment before announcing anything else, so that we can be quick with logistics.)
