History
HEMA Historical sword fighting. This website is meant for all practitioners of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) and is specialised for Europe. The website is in his baby steps and is meant to become an information point for different topics involving and surrounding HEMA. This website is public since the creation of it and will develop step by step.
Creation:
I have created the website because of the following reasons:
My name is Jeroen van Wordragen. I am writing this at the age of 23 on December 10th 2020 and live in the Netherlands and am an HEMA practitioner since November 9th 2018. Because of the corona virus of 2020 (covid-19) we cannot practice at the moment and we have to find an different way to make us self useful and put our time in. That is why I decided to create this website for myself and for others to be an centre location for finding their way in the big world we have created.
I want to create an website for information and conversation. Because I am also still new to the world there should be discussion about all subjects. Not that it means that they are right, but that all logical views will be looked at, while at the same time ditch the ideas that may or may not work. Not everything has the be written down, but it will be evaluated. Helps is always welcome.
Plans:
Further more I want to write down some ideas and topics that may will be put on the website to spread the knowledge and learn from past experiences so as practice, error and failure. Winnings and material. The idea is also to make it much more video format related so that you do not have to read everything, but that (beginners) of HEMA can follow the subjects more easily in different ways and platforms
